THIEVES stole a £4,000 motorbike from outside a Burnley house.

The yellow Yamaha XJ6 bike was taken from an address in Florence Avenue at 8-05pm on Wednesday.

Three males were spotted loading the bike into a small blue van and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

The registration number of the stolen motorbike was PF09 LWP.

A Burnley primary school was raided by thieves whole made off with a laptop.

St Mary’s Primary School in Holcombe Drive was broken into on Wednesday night.

The thieves smashed a window and stole the black Toshiba laptop.

Police say this is the latest in a spate of school break-ins over the festive period including Casterton Primary, Stoneyholme Primary and the Burnley Campus in Barden Lane.

A former Burnley sports shop was raided by metal thieves.

The JJB Superstore, which closed in October, was targeted in a night-time raid on Wednesday.

Police believe the thieves broke in through a third storey window after climbing up onto a neighbouring shop roof.

Copper wiring was ripped out of the wall leaving a trail of damage in the disused St James’ Street shop.

A child’s quad bike was stolen from a shed in Burnley.

The 50cc blue Suzuki bike was taken from the garden shed in Harold Avenue over the Christmas period.

It was worth £300.

Metal thieves struck at a disused Burnley car showroom.

The Lookers garage in Accrington Road was broken into through the roof on Thursday night.

The thieves made off with an unknown quantity of metal fixtures and fittings as well as copper wiring.

Valuable stone flags worth £1,000 have been stolen from a disused Burnley house.

The terraced property in Laithe Street was raided by thieves over the Christmas period.

Neighbours heard noise coming from the property on December 6th last year but the landlord only found the Yorkshire stone flooring was missing in the New Year.

Burglars caused more than £3,000 worth of damage to an empty Burnley house.

Raiders ripped out copper wiring and a boiler worth £800 from the house in Ash Street some time after December 21st last year.

Copper piping and electrical wires were stolen from a disused Burnley unit.

An unknown quantity of scrap metal was taken during the raid on the Norden Works in Oldham Street.
