A CONMAN who targets pensioners, claiming to be taking part in sponsored events, has struck again.

Afsir Khan (21) was given three-and-a-half years behind bars for targeting the elderly in August 2010.

The defendant had only been out of custody five months when he went back to his old ways, tricking a 72 year old. He has now been returned to prison until 2014, after he was recalled on licence for breaking the conditions of his release.

Khan, of Ormerod Road, Burnley, admitted burglary and fraud. Judge Beverly Lunt asked for a pre-sentence report and will sentence him for the latest offence on October 5th. She told him: “It’s going to be prison. It’s a question of how long.”
