Appeal for missing Eccles man

MISSING: Damian Hibbert (s)

MISSING: Damian Hibbert (s)

EAST Lancashire residents are being urged to keep their eyes peeled for a missing Eccles man.

Damian Hibbert (37) was last seen at a friend’s house in Eccles in the early hours of Monday September 17th.

Since he went missing, neither his family nor police have heard from him, and his bank accounts have not been accessed.

His parents, Frank and Betty, from Eccles, are besides themselves with worry as he has never been missing before and not remaining in touch is totally out-of-character.

Frank and Betty issued the following statement: “We just want Damian back, plain and simple.

“It’s not like to him to lose contact with us like this and we just need to know that he is OK.

“We are getting more anxious with each passing day and are appealing for anyone who might know where he is to call police.

“Damian, if you are reading this, please pick up the phone and just let us know you are ok.”

Damian is described as white, about 5ft. 8in tall, with a stocky build, brown shaven hair, and was last seen wearing a grey and black waterproof jacket, blue jeans with pockets on the front and legs with red or yellow trimming, white trainers and a grey hooded top.

He has a tattoo saying ‘Dylan’ on his neck, and ‘Sarah’ and ‘Cherisse’ on his right arm.

He is known to frequent the Eccles area but police believe he could also have visited West Yorkshire or Lancashire.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Riddick, based at Salford, said: “It’s now nearly three weeks since Damian disappeared and his mum and dad are quite understandably distraught.

“He has never been missing before so, when something like this happens out of the blue, it leaves the family deeply upset.

“They now just want to hear that he is OK. I would say to Damian, please, if you are reading this then please get in touch. You can see that your mum and dad are very worried and have effectively put their lives on hold until they hear from you.

“I would also appeal to anyone who knows of Damian’s whereabouts to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
