Labour's Julie Cooper has added her voice to those condemning the Manchester terror attack.
Mrs Cooper, who has been campaigning to hold on to her parliamentary seat, also passed on her condolences to the victims and their families.
She said: "I wish to express my absolute horror at last night's appalling attack in Manchester. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
"I cannot express strongly enough my respect and admiration for the professionalism and courage of the emergency services who attended through the night and continue to treat the injured.
"The people of Manchester have once again shown their spirit and compassion through their exceptional response.
"As a mark of respect, all campaign activity has been suspended and my office will be closed today as a mark of respect."
