Christmas came to Burnley as families flocked to the town centre for the annual lights switch-on.
Bank of Dave television reality star David Fishwick flicked the switch, powered from his nearby office, as Channel Four cameras filmed the event as part of his latest documentary.
The spectacular event was held on a stage in St James’s Street with a backdrop of music and live theatre, and of course an appearance from the man himself, Father Christmas.
Burnley Youth Theatre members performed extracts from their forthcoming production of “The Wizard of Oz”. Duo Will and Patrick, and soloist Anna Stevens also sang, while It’s My Party completed the line-up.
Raynor Pepper, co-organiser, said: “It was a lovely atmosphere and a great crowd.”
