IGHTENHILL: Candlelit carols in the park

PARISH COUNCIL – At the October meeting of the parish council Coun. Margaret Bushby was chairman and present were Couns Kayley, Ferguson and Doyle. Apologies were received from Coun. Chattle.

Coun. Doyle said grass cutting will still be carried out by the borough council but it has been delayed because of poor weather. Quotes are being sought for the two new signs for Ightenhill Park Lane and Lakeland Way. He also spoke about the proposed parliamentary boundary changes but the council decided not to respond.

The clerk reported the audit had been completed. The clerk is to order six more extra large high visibility jackets with Ightenhill Parish Council printed on the back. Coun. Ferguson reported that several planning applications had been dealt with. Two had required no response but the council had objected to an application for the conversion of an existing building into a dwelling at a nursery in Ightenhill Park Lane. The parish council was informed the Friends of Ightenhill Park is to hold a Candlelit Carols event in the Park on December 22nd. Further details will be released nearer the time. At the end of the meeting, Coun. Margaret Bushby resigned from the parish council due to other commitments. Members thanked her for her work.
