Tickets are selling fast for Burnley’s official annual bonfire and fireworks spectacular.
In just one day last week, the Burnley Mechanics sold 200 tickets for the event at Towneley Park on Wednesday, November 5th.
Tickets are available from the Mechanics, Towneley Hall and St Peter’s and Padiham leisure centres. Prices are £2 for one person, or £6 for a family.
Tickets are also available with parking in Towneley at either Woodgrove or Riverside. These are priced at £10, which includes parking and entry for up to four people.
There will also be a funfair and catering on the night.
The funfair will open at 6-30pm. Junior fireworks are scheduled to start at 7-30pm, and the main firework display will kick off at 8-30pm.
For those people and organisations holding bonfires across the borough in the run up to and on Bonfire Night, Burnley Borough Council and other organisations in the Community Safety Partnership have launched a registration scheme.
The scheme has been successful in cutting the number of call-outs by the fire service to “nuisance” fires during its busiest time of the year.
Anyone organising a bonfire is urged to register their event by 5pm on Friday, October 31st via www.burnley.gov.uk/forms/bonfire-registration-scheme-form. In return they will get professional support to help make sure the event goes safely and no-one is injured.
