A SERVICE to remember the tragic victims of the Holocaust will take place this weekend.
Civic, church and community leaders will join together to remember all those who suffered Nazi persecution during a multi-faith service in the Croft Street Peace Garden at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
It will commemorate National Holocaust Memorial Day which looks to provide: a national mark of respect; raise awareness of the Holocaust; reflect on recent atrocities; assert a continuing commitment to oppose racism, anti-Semitism, victimisation and genocide; promote a democratic society which celebrates diversity; and highlight the values of universal human dignity and good citizenship.
The Mayor of Burnley, Coun. Tony Lambert, will be among the guests at the memorial service.
