Burnley has some of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the country.
The town was listed third highest on a list of towns and cities in England and Wales for conception rates among youngsters aged between 15 and 17.
The shocking figures were released by the Office for National Statistics and cover the period between 1998 and 2012.
According to the figures Burnley had a conception rate of 50.1 per thousand girls in 2012, down from 53.2 the year before and considerably reduced from the rate of 82.3 in 1998.
The national picture is that teen pregnancies are at a record low.
But the figures show the rate in Burnley is still comparatively high, with only Middlesborough and Stoke on Trent above in the table with conception rates of 52.0 and 51.3 respectively.
