LONG SERVICE: Staff from Burnley General Hospital are presented with certificates for 25 years service

Long-serving employees from Burnley and Blackburn hospitals were rewarded for their dedication at a special awards ceremony.

More than 180 staff from East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust celebrated 25 years’ service at the Staff Long Service Awards.

Ceremonies were held at Burnley General and Royal Blackburn Hospitals where the Trust’s chairman, Prof. Eileen Fairhurst, and interim chief executive, Mr Jim Birrell, presented staff with certificates.

Award-winners included consultants, medical secretaries, clerical workers, nurses, health care assistants, catering staff and human resources and organisational development staff.

Mr Birrell said: “I would like to congratulate these staff on their long service and thank every one of them for their loyalty, hard work and dedication to this Trust.

“Staff are our most important asset and retaining experienced members of staff and all their knowledge and expertise is an important part of building and maintaining a successful organisation.”
