A Burnley couple received a Christmas delivery to remember – nearly two weeks early.

For their baby daughter Lilly Beth, who was not due until the New Year, popped into the world at 10-55am on Christmas morning.

Kayleigh Shaw (24) and her partner Jack Heys, a window cleaner, had wanted to make the day special for their older daughter Shaania (6) so when Kayleigh went into labour in the early hours of the morning they waited until Shaania had opened all her presents before they made their way to hospital at 8am.

Three hours later their new daughter made her entrance at the Birthing Centre at Burnley General Hospital and the family were back home by 1-30pm to continue Christmas.

“We had two Christmas dinners delivered by family and friends but to be honest we were too weary to eat them. It certainly was a day to remember,” said Kayleigh, “And the staff at the hospital were brilliant, we can’t thank them enough.”

The family enjoyed the remainder of the Christmas holidays at their home in Paythorne Avenue, Brunshaw.
