Burnley Leisure has donated a defibrillator machine to the parkrun group to help ensure safer sport for participants.

Parkrun organises a number of free, weekly, 5km timed runs across the globe, and organisers of the event were told to equip the runs with the machines, which could save someone’s life in the event of a cardiac-related incident.

This prompted Burnley Leisure to step in and provide a brand new machine.

Paul Foster, development manager at Burnley Leisure , said: “When we heard that the parkrun group needed a defibrillator machine we were more than happy to help out.”
