RAFFLE ticket buyers will be hoping they can “Bank on Dave” to bring them good luck on Saturday when entrepreneur David Fishwick makes the draw for the annual car raffle for Pendleside Hospice.

Mr Fishwick recently gained national fame with his community-based bank featured in a Channel 4 series and now open in Burnley.

The draw for a bright red Mini is at noon in Charter Walk shopping centre. If the winner does not want the car they can take £8,000 in cash.

Organisers are expecting a last-minute rush for the £1 draw tickets, which have already brought in £28,000. Tickets have been on sale since April and will be available from 9am.

Fund-raisers hope to have made around £30,000 by the time of the draw.

The car has been paid for by local businesses and charities – Charter Walk, Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons, SFN Solicitors and Macadams Garages – and has been supplied by Prestons, of Colne.
