PUBLIC consultation on Burnley’s University Technical College is to begin tomorrow after providers Training 2000 secured £9.3m. of government funding.
Sessions will take place in the council chamber at Burnley Town Hall at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 19th, to allow members of the public to have their say on the proposals.
The plans, for the site at Victoria Mills, Trafalgar Street, are subject to the final funding agreement being signed by the Secretary of State in April.
Coun. Charlie Briggs, leader of Burnley Borough Council, said: “This is a major success – it cements Burnley’s growing reputation as a centre for excellence for education and skills in advanced manufacturing. Modern manufacturers need a skilled workforce – Burnley’s ability to supply the skills will become a magnet which retains and draws in manufacturing businesses.”
