Green light to celebrate Will and Kate’s Royal Wedding in style

RIBBLE VALLEY MP Nigel Evans is urging communities across the UK to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding in style.

He has urged local authorities not to stifle the occasion with needless bureaucracy.

Speaking from Westminster, Mr Evans said: “Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, has said people should be allowed to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

“I am delighted, therefore, having spoken to Coun. Geoff Driver, who is the Leader of Lancashire County Council, that the county council will not be charging any costs for road closures on that day so people across Lancashire will be able to hold street parties and safely put up bunting.

“It will be a fantastic occasion and I hope people will now feel able to celebrate in style in their local area!

“I am so pleasedLancashire County Council will not be adopting a clip board, nanny state mentality and will help everybody enjoy what will undoubtedly be a superb day!”
