BURNLEY Wood Luncheon Club members got their teeth into some serious fund-raising.
The members of the recently-launched club raised £400 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and Pendleside Hospice. A presentation was made last week to Guide Dog trainer David Fishwick.
Burnley Wood Coun. Karen Heseltine said: “We organised several online auctions with the Burnley Past and Present group on Facebook as well as a table top sale at Accent Training and Community Centre in Springfield Road, where we hold our lunches.
“I can’t thank people enough for their generosity, especially when times are hard. We will be doing more fund-raising.”
