Since a picture paints a 1000 words, these crafty volunteers are showing residents exactly what they have been up to in the park in the most colourful way they can.

The new artwork has now been added to Towneley Hall’s fabulous collection at the suggestion of staff and is on display in its Wild About Burnley gallery.

Artist Sharon Bainbridge has spent the last 18 months transforming the volunteers from novices to mosaic masters, teaching them how to cut, mount and grout the tiles.

Thanks must go not only to Sharon but to Burnley Pendle and Rossendale CVS and Burnley Borough Council for providing funding and a venue for the workshops.

The Towneley Crafters group meets every Monday from 1 – 3pm and offers a fun-filled programme of creative projects.

New members are always welcome.
