Flag-waving pupils brave freezing weather to meet the Prince

Royal excitement reached fever pitch as Prince Charles met pupils from Clitheroe primary schools.

As the special visitor walked up Castle Street, Clitheroe, speaking to stallholders, he was greeted by a chorus of cheers from excited flag-waving primary schoolchildren.

The youngsters from St James' Primary School and St Michael and St John's Primary School, Clitheroe, braved the freezing weather to meet the special visitor

Six-year-old Evie, who attends St James' Primary School said she was "very excited" to meet the Prince. Armed with a bunch of daffodils, the youngster said: "I have visited London before and seen Buckingham Palace, but never met a member of the Royal family. I cannot wait to see Prince Charles."
