Firefighters have been reassuring residents living in Hapton close to where a woman died.
Crews have been speaking to people in Manchester Road since the fire on Sunday night which claimed the life of a woman in her early 20s.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: “Usually what happens after a serious fire like that is we go out and speak to people in the community and offer them free home fire safety checks.”
Police and the fire service are investigating the cause of the incident and officers were last night conducting door-to-door inquries.
Wellwishers have left flowers and teddy bears outside the house as a tribute to the woman, who is yet to be named by police.
