Firefighters spent two hours tackling a blaze at a vacant industrial unit.

Crews were called to building in Athletic Street, Fulledge, at 11-45 p.m. yesterday.

Breathing apparatus, two jets and two ventilation units were used to get the fire, which is being treated as suspicious, under control.

Watch manager Dominic Fellows said: “The caller told us they could see smoke coming from Lupton and Place but when we got there it was actually at the rear.

“It was well alight when we got there but we managed to get it under control before it took real hold.”
