A WOMAN was rescued by a passer-by after a fire started at her home last night.

Flames engulfed an upstairs bedroom at the house, in Albert Street, at 11-45 p.m.

The woman, thought to be in her forties, was asleep in another bedroom at the property when the fire took hold.

Luckily, a passing dog walker spotted smoke billowing from the building and ran inside before leading her to safety before firefighters arrived.
