Fire crews tackle Burnley basement blaze

Firefighters spent nearly five hours tackling a fire at a basement flat in Burnley.

Crews were called to the blaze in Bank Parade at around 5-45pm yesterday.

Four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two ventilation units were used to help extinguish the fire and clear the property of smoke.

The fire, which started in the bathroom of the flat, is not being treated as deliberate.

Nobody was injured.
