Firefighters spent three hours tackling a building fire at the bottom of New Hall Street.

Two fire crews were called to the site at 9-20pm yesterday.

They used ladders, breaking in tools and a power saw to gain access to a compound at the rear of the building where the fire was.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fought the blaze using a hose reel. Investigators determined the cause to be accidental.
