Hundreds of Padiham families are gearing up for a party to round off the summer in style.
The town’s popular “Party in the Park” is back with action-packed attractions.
More than 500 people flocked to Memorial Park in 2012 but organisers have promised this year is to be bigger and better.
Fairground rides, a Teddy Bears’ picnic and fun activities are planned.
Youngsters can tackle a climbing wall, meet birds of prey, marvel at the judo display team and enjoy a traditional Punch and Judy show.
Children’s entertainers will perform and hedgehogs and ferrets will be brought in by a rescue centre.
The police, ambulance and fire service will have displays on the day and kit cars are being driven in by a Padiham garage.
Crafts stalls with everything from jewellery and ice cream to home-made sweets will be on sale and Burnley Alliance Silver Band will entertain.
Padiham Tesco is providing food for the Teddy Bears’ picnic and staff to man the stalls.
Padiham Mayor Coun. Vince Pridden believes it will be an extra-special day for the town.
He said: “It should be a great fun day. We want to see the people of Padiham turn out and have a really good day out.”
