Despite severe weather in the last few days, homes and businesses in Burnley have been largely unaffected.
Power cuts struck across the region, but despite the heavy storms there were none reported in Burnley.
The severe weather mainly affected Cumbria, while in Lancashire at its peak Electricity North West said 1,000 customers were off supply. By yesterday morning at 10am this was down to 90 customers in Lancashire.
Currently there are 20 customers off in Darwen and 12 in Longridge.
A spokesmann for Electricity North West, said: “Currently we have 40 customers in Lancashire without power due to the high winds which hit the region late on Thursday night. The fault was caused by trees and debris falling on our overhead powerlines and our engineers are on site and they will be repairing the damage as quickly as possible today.
“We understand how frustrating it is to be without power, especially during the festive period, but we will continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.”
