Firefighters were called out to help after an elderly woman fell from her electric scooter.

The 76-year-old woman had fallen out of her electric mobility scooter and collapsed on the floor of the hallway blocking the door to her house in Evans Street at 9pm on Tuesday.

Acting crew manager Kevin Birchall said: “Fire and Rescue personnel lifted the lady into a standard wheelchair and then transferred her again into a reclining easy chair. The incident was challenging because of the location that the casualty was in, but she was fully conscious and aware throughout.”
