JOSH REDFERN, a Year 11 pupil at St Augustine’s RC High School, Billington, is celebrating after winning a competition held at Burnley College’s Apprenticeships Open Event.

Josh was selected as the winner of a signed Burnley FC shirt following his attendance at the event. While there he learnt more about the college’s outstanding Apprenticeships provision and met employers from a wide range of companies from across East Lancashire who employ apprentices.

Jayne Hodson, Burnley College Assistant Principal, said: “Josh was really pleased to win the competition at our open event and we would like to wish him lots of luck in his final year of GCSE study. We hope he found our event helpful in deciding what he would like to progress to after his exams.”

Josh added: “I found the open event at Burnley College really useful and winning the signed Burnley shirt made the evening even better.”
