Pupils from Padiham Green Primary School showed they can live up to the name of their school when they spent a week walking to their lessons.
Pupils and parents took part in the Walking to School Week, meeting at designated stops along the Greenway to form part of a walking train. Several children were able to ride the journey on their scooters and parents brought along pet dogs too. Once in school the pupils were served a breakfast of cereal, toast, croissants, milk shake and fruit juice, by Siobhan Carter of Padiham’s Tesco.
The annual initiative is part of a national scheme to encourage parents to leave their cars at home and get out in the open air to promote a healthy lifestyle.
