Holy Trinity RC Primary School pupils celebrate their Ofsted report.

Ofsted inspectors have given a Brierfield primary school a glowing report following a recent inspection.

The team which visited Holy Trinity RC Primary School over two days at the end of March found pupil behaviour to be outsanding and all other aspects to be good, earning the Halifax Road school a “good” grading overall.

In their report, the inspectors say: “High levels of care and excellent spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development contribute to outstanding behaviour and safety.

“The vast majority of parents rate the school highly.

“A comment by one typifies the view of the vast majority: ‘The school has super balance between focusing on academic attainment and wider achievement, providing a well-rounded education.’

“Good and, at times, outstanding teaching together with an imaginatively planned curriculum, give pupils great enjoyment and excellent attitudes. These contribute to above-average attendance.

“Regular checks on pupils’ achievement mean that pupils usually have work that is just at the right level.

“The dedicated and skilled leadership of the headteacher, supported by an effective governing body, is a key factor in the school’s success.

“A shared ambition amongst all staff drives the school forward. Staff are very well managed and training is tailored to improve their skills.

“The school is currently improving and is well placed to continue to do so in future.”
