Youngsters got the chance to see how important smoke alarms are in their homes during a visit by Blue Watch from Burnley Fire Station.

Pupils at Holy Trinity Primary welcomed the crews and they took part in a role play where some of the students dressed as firefighters while others pretended to be a family asleep when a fire breaks out in their home.

During the role play role one person heard the smoke alarm beeping and alerted everyone else and they had to act out crawling out of the house until the fire brigade arrived.

Blue Watch from Burnley Fire Station also showed an animated film followed by a short quiz related to what they had seen.

The children were invited to go home and let their parents know how important smoke alarms are and if they do not have any in their home to ring the fire service as they will fit one for free.
