Pupils from Hameldon celebrate their GCSE results

Hameldon students have done themselves proud achieving the best ever results in the college’s history, says head teacher Miss Gill Broom

She commented: “Thanks to the hard work and commitment of students, their families, staff and governors, the vast majority of our students have met or exceeded their target grades and are looking forward to further studies post 16.

“100% of our students gained GCSE qualifications with 52% A*-C grades including English and maths. We believe the percentage of students making expected progress in English is above the national average while in maths those securing a grade C or above has improved dramatically by 17%.”

She went on: “As a small school we know our students and their families personally and would like to thank all those who have made the class of 2014 such a success both in and out of the classroom and wish them the best of luck for their future studies.

“We look forward to welcoming our Year 7 students in September who we know will contribute to Hameldon’s continued success.”
