A popular teaching assistant from Burnley has been found hanged at home.
Mum-of-two Mrs Jacqueline Gallagher (51) was found by her father Colin Robinson at her home in Townfield Avenue at 11-40am on Thursday, November 13th.
Mrs Gallagher worked as a teaching assistant and welfare assistant at St Mary’s RC Primary School, Holcombe Drive.
An inquest, opened by East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor, heard that Mrs Gallagher, who had been suffering from depression, had been discovered by her father after he had returned from walking the dog.
Pathologist Dr Richard Prescott, who conducted a post-mortem examination, gave the cause of death as hanging.
A full inquest will be held in Burnley on February 17th.
Mrs Gallagher’s funeral took place on Tuesday at St Mary’s RC Church, Burnley.
