A drunk man who was “mouthy” to police in the street had no idea what he had said, a court was told.

Burnley magistrates heard how David Craig Henderson’s outburst in the town on July 31st was “all a bit of a blur,” to him.

Henderson (34) who was reported to have sworn at and threatened an officer, had refused to go home.

Henderson had his case heard in his absence, after his solicitor told the bench the defendant had suffered a serious injury in a fall.

The defendant, of Pembroke Street, Burnley, admitted being drunk and disorderly on Blacker Street.

He was ordered to pay a total of £155 in fines, costs and victim surcharge.
