Burnley striker Danny Ings showed he can cut it after opening a new hair salon in Burnley.
Simon Townley Hair, situated next to Brighthouse in the town centre, held its official opening and also raised more than £1,200 for charity.
Ings cut the ribbon and made a generous donation to the charity Aniridia UK – which supports people who suffer from a rare genetic condition called Aniridia, which affects the eyes and causes lack of irises and poor vision from birth.
They also held collections and a raffle for the charity, with prizes ranging from signed Burnley shirts to international DJ Nicky Romero backstage concert tickets.
Salon owner Simon Townley said: “The opening night was great fun and I’d like to thank everyone who came down.
“To have clients bringing potential new customers to the event to see the salon, while raising money for a great cause, was everything I could have hoped for. It’s a cause close to my heart because a little boy of one of my clients suffers from the condition.”
Simon, who has suffered from brittle bones since birth, can boast a list of well-known clients from the world of football, including Ings and Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
