Update: Burnley man’s Rochdale child sex charges

A Burnley man charged in connection to a major police investigation of child sexual exploitation in Rochdale has appeared in court.

Mohammed Davood (37), of Leyland Road, is one of 10 men charged by the police as part of Operation Doublet, an investigation into child sexual exploitation of teen girls by older men in Rochdale.

Davood has been charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of rape, one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual assault.

Davood appeared at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and was bailed to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, on March 16th.
