An elderly woman and her young grandchild were subjected to a terrifying ordeal when three masked men burst into her home.
The woman in her 70s was babysitting her 12-year-old grandson at home in Coleshill Avenue home when she heard a noise outside.
When she investigated, three burglars broke in. They then stole cash from the house before escaping in a car onto Brunshaw Avenue, and then Lyndhurst Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 8-20pm on Tuesday.
PC Phil Bewley, of Pennine Proactive Team, said: “The victim is very shaken up. This would be a horrible thing to happen to anybody, but to happen to an elderly victim like this is terrible.”
Anybody with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
