TWO teenagers charged with the manslaughter of a 48-year-old Burnley man have appeared at Reedley Magistrates’ Court.
Darren Atkinson, of Burnley Road, Harle Syke, was attacked and found slumped in the front garden of a house in Standen Hall Drive on Friday, March 25th.
He died two weeks later at the Royal Preston Hospital.
A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced charges of manslaughter before Reedley magistrates with their parents watching from the public gallery.
The pair are also facing a charge of grievous bodily harm.
Magistrates adjourned the case until June 13th when the defendants will be brought back before the court for committal proceedings.
They were given bail, but magistrates imposed a curfew with an electronic tag and prohibited them from contacting witnesses.
