A TAKEAWAY driver was robbed by two men wearing balaclavas after being lured to a quiet part of Burnley on Thursday night.

The driver was delivering fast food to a house in Hurstwood Lane in Hurstwood at 11-30pm after a telephone order had been placed.

When the delivery driver got out of his car, it became apparent that no order had been made from the address as he was approached from behind by two men wearing balaclavas.

One of the men assaulted the victim using a weapon causing serious injuries before both searched the victim and stole his money.

Det. Sgt Lukmaan Mulla said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw anything or anyone at all suspicious to get in touch with us.”
