Stolen Burnley car smashes into six vehicles

TWO Burnley men were taken to hospital after crashing a stolen car into six parked vehicles.

Police were alerted to the incident at 12-45 a.m. today after occupants from a house in Ladbrooke Grove, Burnley, called saying their Honda Civic had been stolen.

The car was recovered in Manchester Road, near to the junction of Rossendale Road, after smashing into a garden wall, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Firefighters had to cut the 20-year-old driver out of the car and he was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with a broken leg. The 20-year-old passenger, who suffered extensive bruising, also had to be cut loose.

Four others, a 16-year-old girl, 21-year-old man, 36-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, all from Burnley, have all been arrested in connection with the initial burglary.
