Road closed after fuel spillage

A fuel spillage saw a busy Hapton main road closed for three hours on Sunday.

The spillage was caused after a lorry and a van were involved in a collision on Accrington Road at around 2-05pm.

A section of the A679 near to Manchester Road was closed for three hours while the fuel was cleared from the road and the vehicles recovered.

Paramedics treated two men from the lorry at the scene.

One suffered cuts to his face while the other was treated for an injury to his shoulder.
