Police are urging homeowners in Briercliffe and Worsthorne to be vigilant following a number of thefts.

Several homes and vehicles have been targeted in both areas in recent weeks and police are asking people to ensure their property is locked and secure at all times.

They are also advising that presents be kept out of sight in the run-up to Christmas with a number of items taken from porches.

Anybody with any information is urged to ring police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
