Police thank residents following Burnley siege

Police officers involved in a stand-off at a Burnley flat have thanked residents for their co-operation.

The incident, in Escott Gardens, which started at 4-30pm yesterday, saw two arrests made. A woman who was kept in the property has not been harmed.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to thank local people for their co-operation.”
