Police seize £4,000 ‘amphetamine’ from car in Burnley

TWO men were arrested after police seized over a quarter of a kilo of suspected amphetamine from a car in Burnley.

Police stopped the Ford Focus in Padiham Road around 8-10 p.m. on Thursday and discovered the drugs valued at £4,000, along with packaging and scales.

Two men, aged 28 and 29, from Blackpool and Thornton were arrested on suspicion of possessing amphetamine with intent to supply, possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply and possessing a knife. The 28-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving. Both men were bailed until December 19th pending further inquiries.

A police spokesperson said: “This action has prevented a large amount of amphetamine from reaching the streets of Lancashire. Our inquiries continue and I urge anyone with information about drugs to contact us.”
