Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to trace following a robbery at Coral in Burnley.
A balaclava-clad man entered the bookies in Harry Potts Way at around 8-45pm on Monday, July 21st, armed with a 2ft long sword.
He approached the counter and demanded money from staff. He is then believed to have struck the computer screen which operates the till with the sword and knocked over displays within the shop. It is believed that the man then jumped over the counter, continuing to make demands for money and brandishing the weapon towards staff before stealing approximately £150 to £200 from the till.
He left the shop and is believed to have escaped towards the direction of Holcombe Drive.
The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 10in. in height with a slim build and spoke with a local accent. At the time he was wearing a grey tracksuit top with a logo on the top of the hood and dark tracksuit bottoms.
DC Dave Greenwood, of Pennine CID, said: “I would like people to take a close look at these CCTV images and if anyone knows who this man may be, please get in touch with us as soon as you can.
“This was a violent and aggressive attack which left two members of staff terrified and fearful for their own safety. Anyone with information is urged to contact me on 01282 472524 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
