Police hunt attacker who broke woman’s jaw after Burnley takeaway row

A WOMAN was knocked unconscious and left with a broken jaw after being punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in Burnley town centre.

The 25-year-old victim was in K2 Fastfood takeaway in St James’s Street at 4 a.m. on Sunday when police said she had a minor disagreement with a man.

As she left the takeaway she was punched to the left side of her face and was left unconscious on the pavement.

She was taken to Burnley General Hospital where an X-ray showed her jaw bone was broken. She was released after treatment.

Police are examining CCTV footage in a bid to trace the attacker who is white, in his twenties and very muscular.
