A HUGE blaze which ripped through a Burnley shop is being treated as suspicious by police.
The Spar supermarket in Padiham Road caught fire at 10-45pm last night after the store had closed.
Families had to be evacuated from their homes as fierce 20ft flames tore through the building.
Around 25 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze and police were forced to close the main road for several hours.
A teenager had to be rescued from the roof of the building which collapsed minutes later.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and is being questioned by detectives.
An investigation has been launched into the fire which is being treated as suspicious.
