A man charged with a human trafficking offence has pleaded not guilty.

Razvan Ursu (32), of Ford Street, Burnley, appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Saturday morning.

He was arrested and charged by police on Friday after a search of two East Lancashire addresses, one in St James Street, Blackburn, and the other in Ford Street, Burnley.

Police said a 26-year-old Romanian woman had been discovered at the Burnley address and had been taken to a place of safety.

Ursu was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 27th.
