It is nearly 24 hours and there is no resolution to a stand-off at a house where a woman is said to be be being kept against her will.
The incident started just after 4-30pm on Monday when police received a concern for safety call in relation to a woman at a property in Escott Gardens, Duke Bar
A specialist negotiator is still trying to bring a peaceful end to a stand-off at a house in which a woman is being held against her will.
Police confirmed that a woman was being held at a flat in Escott Gardens, nearly 24 hours after armed officers were mobilised.
A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and established there was a man inside the property who was preventing the woman from leaving.
“A cordon is in place and a negotiator is at the scene and is in dialogue with a 20-year-old man inside the property.
“Police have spoken with the woman concerned, who at this time remains inside the property, and she is physically unharmed.”
