Burnley High School has issued a statement warning parents that motorists have been offering lifts to children near to the school.
The school, currently based in the Parkhill Business Centre, Padiham Road, released the statement on Wednesday.
It said: “Today we have had information from various sources that there have been incidents of men in a car around the Burnley and Padiham area offering young people lifts.
“The safety of our students is our main priority and the school will be making proactive steps to ensure our students are safe.
“These steps will include getting relevant information to our parents/carers and also for now having a staff presence on the main road before and after school. We will work with outside agencies where appropriate to do what’s best to keep all of our family safe.”
