Hapton drug dealer admits £100,000 blackmail charge

A Hapton man serving 16 years in jail for his part in a conspiracy to smuggle 90 kilograms of cocaine into the country has now admitted a £100,000 blackmail charge.

Lee Morgan, who used to live in Lyndale Road, pleaded guilty to demanding £100,000 cash from Murray John Dawson.

He was brought from jail to Burnley Crown Court.

His barrister, Michael Harrison QC, asked Mr Recorder Geoffrey Lowe to adjourn sentence for statements from the family involved in the blackmail.

Morgan was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on November 29th.
